Who Needs to File TDS Returns: Any person or entity who is liable to deduct TDS while making payments such as salaries, rent, commission, professional fees, interest, etc., is required to file TDS returns. This includes employers, business entities, government offices, and individuals who are responsible for deducting TDS.

  • Form 24Q: For TDS on salaries
  • Form 26Q: For TDS on payments other than salaries
  • Form 27Q: For TDS on payments made to non-residents

Frequency of Filing

TDS returns are filed quarterly. The due dates for filing TDS returns are:
31st July for the quarter ending on 30th June
31st October for the quarter ending on 30th September
31st January for the quarter ending on 31st December
31st May for the quarter ending on 31st March.

TDS returns are filed electronically through the Income Tax Department's e-filing portal. The return can be filed using Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or electronically verified through Aadhaar OTP or EVC (Electronic Verification Code).
